On behalf of the Istanbul Technical University Maritime Faculty ( ITU MF ) and Piri Reis University ( PRU ), it is with great pleasure that we extend to you an invitation to participate in the 29th International Maritime Lecturers Association (IMLA29) Conference. This prestigious event will be held in the vibrant city of Istanbul from September 25 to September 28, 2024.

IMLA’s aim is “to promote contact and cooperation between Maritime Lecturers of all disciplines and to develop a body of Professional expertise. Thus it attempts to fulfill at its regular international conferences and through this portal. At that point, The IMLA29 conference aims to bring together maritime educators, researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers to discuss the latest trends, challenges, and innovations in maritime education and training. This year’s conference will feature an array of engaging sessions, workshops, and panel discussions, providing an excellent opportunity for professional development, networking, and collaboration. This year, we are also pleased to announce that IMLA29 will host three specialized subcommittees International Navigation Simulator Lecturers Conference-INSLC22, International Conference on Engine Room Simulators-ICERS16, International Maritime English Conference-IMEC34; each focusing on a distinct aspect of maritime education and training, allowing for more in-depth discussions and targeted networking opportunities.
The conference will host world-wide known keynote speakers. The conference program will cover a wide range of topics, including but not limited to marine/navigation simulator based maritime education and training, maritime safety and security, environmental sustainability, technological advancements, and best practices in maritime education and training. We are also excited to offer cultural and social activities that will allow participants to experience the rich history and beauty of Istanbul. The papers will be evaluated by highly prestigious academic journals to be published. A prooceding book will be cover all the acccepted and presented full papers. Best Paper Awards have also been given to each specific sub-committee’s themes.
