THE PÎRÎ REIS UNIVERSITY SHIP

T / S PİRİ REİS ÜNİVERSİTESİ, which has 127.59 m length, 10.870 gross ton, 18.5 knot maximum speed and 564 passenger capacity, provides additional equipment and class facilities for theoretical and practical training at the same time. In addition to training and internship opportunities, it is also possible to organize scientific events such as extensive conference seminars.

T/S PİRİ REİS ÜNİVERSİTESİ commenced her first open sea training on 21 July 2015 with 196 cadets. In addition, practical and theory-based lectures are held on the ship throughout the year. Training is provided to students of Piri Reis University and participation is accepted from students of other educational institutions. Approximately, 25 lecturers who are qualified and certified as trainer, as per IMO (International Maritime Organization) standards, have accompanied cadets during open sea trainings.

T / S PİRİ REİS ÜNİVERSİTESİ has been serving to the students of Piri Reis University and to students who are studying at different maritime faculties and maritime vocational schools from Turkey and foreign countries since the summer of 2015, a total of 650 students, including from different countries and universities, have been provided with the opportunity to take training up to now.
T/S PİRİ REİS ÜNİVERSİTESİ commenced her last open sea training on 29 June 2017 with 192 cadets. Between 29 June and 29 August 2017, T / S Piri Reis University training ship first started to open sea training from Zeytinburnu/Zeyport. In the first month, Ports of Marmara and Aegean Sea (Gölcük, Gemlik, Bandırma, Bozcaada, İzmir, Kuşadası, Bodrum, Çeşme, Çanakkale and Tekirdağ) were visited. In the second month, Ports of Black Sea (Samsun, Hopa, Trabzon, Giresun, Ordu, İnebolu, Amasra, Sinop, Ereğli) were visited.
