INTERNATIONAL MARITIME LAW

MARSEC COE NCAGS COURSE LECTURE ON INTERNATIONAL MARITIME LAW AND PROTECTION AGAINST PIRACY BY H.ÖMER AKDAGLI

MARSEC COE which has been established in 2012 by the Turkish Navy, is both a center for academic research as well as a (multinational) hub for practical training in the field of maritime security, along with relevant domains (Maritime Trade, Energy Security, Maritime Environment, Maritime Resources, Public Health, Maritime Transport-Logistic). MARSEC COE strives to achieve the necessary collaboration amongst stakeholders from government, industry, academia and private sector.

Within this context, Naval Cooperation and Guidance for Shipping Course was held on 23-27 November 2015. Aim of the course was to prepare the participants to mission duties with the relevant information on NCAGS in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Mean while Course participants had a chance to visit an NCAGS Exercise that was taking place at the same time in MARSEC COE respectively A total of 24 participants including representatives from 6 countries participated in the course. In pursuit to an invitation letter by MARSEC COE, Lecturer H.Ömer AKDAGLI has been assigned both for attending the course as well lecturing participants on International Law/Maritime Law and Countering Piracy.
