According to legal Turkish regulations, all exchange students are required to apply for a residence permit via Istanbul’s Immigration Office within the first month of arrival.

Register online with the Ministry of the Interior, Directorate General of Migration  Management (LİNK:http://www.goc.gov.tr/main/Eng_3) to download and print out your Application Form. The student should do this after they receive a student number from PRU. The student should also obtain a residence address in Turkey, and a Turkish mobile phone to which a verfication code will be sent to complete the application process.

Documents the student needs to submit during the application process:

·       Application form (printed and signed)

·       Passport

·       Photocopies of the main page of your passport, visa and the stamp when you entered the country.

·       E-visa (if you have)

·       4 biometric photos

·       Health insurance document

·       Student certificate

·       Student confirmation of study

·       Income declaration document

·       Receipt from payment for the Residence Permit which is paid to the İstanbul Vergi Dairesi Başkanlığı Eğitim Müdürlüğü (The tax office for educational matters) in Sirkeci, Eminönü.
